It’s always good to know who you’re getting into bed with.
Our Story
We’d had enough of overconsumption and hustle-culture. So we dreamt up a way to do things differently. Find out more about us below.
Meet the founder
I’m Sophie, the founder of Leisurely. I started out in fashion production, sourcing clothing for everyone from new sustainable brands, to massive consumer goods corporates. I’ve always loved the technical side of things and perfecting a product, but after a while I started to get burnt out from the hectic pace of the fashion industry, and found it harder and harder to justify producing more clothes when there’s already such an excess of them.
After taking some time out going right back to source exploring cotton fields, alpaca farms, factories, and artisans across the globe, I came back home to the UK armed with a bunch of sustainable fabrics and ideas and set to work building Leisurely.
No matter the location I found the same conversation kept coming up. I wasn’t the only one finding modern life too fast-paced, feeling disconnected from nature, and craving some simplification. How frequently do we all feel too tired, too busy, and spread too thin?
By taking the time to slow down and get the rest we need, we can make more space to live the lives we dream of.
Our mission
The softest sheets + slow down consumption + sustainable production + improve your sleep
Our value chain
Everything we own goes on a journey before it reaches our homes, and that includes our TENCEL™ bed sheets. Explore our value chain here as we attempt to illustrate the ecosystem of our bedding sets from forest to bedroom.
Step One: Raw Material & Yarn Production
TENCEL™ is made from sustainably sourced wood and so the first step in our value chain is sourcing that wood. The wood is sourced from FSC and PEFC certified forests to ensure protection of ancient woodland, maintain biodiversity, and protect forest communities.

A Family Business
Lameirinho have been making the best bed linen for 75 years, and is a true family business with generations working alongside one another.
Meet Salette Martins, one of the team at Lameirinho, who started in the factory and is now Sales Manager.
Circular textiles production
Textiles waste can be a problem even before anything has left the factory. That’s why Lameirinho have created their own solution.
They gather all off-cuts at the factory, to make into new yarn which is then used for new sheets and blankets.
