Our Ethos

We see things as systems. Sustainability can never just be about one isolated aspect of what we do. It runs through everything.

Yes, our production is as sustainable as possible. Our packaging is recycled and recyclable. We support environmental charities.

But we also think about how, and how long, our sheets will be used for. We want them to be cherished and passed down through generations. We think hard about how we promote our sheets, and the messages we give out.

Our mission is to give you the best sheets possible, in the most sustainable way possible; so you can get the rest you need to do the things you really care about.

Consumption

The world doesn’t really need more product. But while mass production and throwaway culture still dominate, we want to make a space in the market for a different kind of business. We want to demonstrate that there’s no excuse for damaging our planet for the sake of producing ever cheaper and faster things that we don’t really need.

We produce at small scale to ensure we’ll never be left with excess stock, and have developed our sheets to be as generously indulgent, functional, and long-lasting as possible.

Join us in slowing down and focusing on the things that really matter.

Environmental Protection

The climate crisis is bigger than what we can do alone as a brand.

One of our biggest motivations is to support environmental protection through our charity donations. We’ve chosen to support Client Earth for the powerful work they do using the power of the law. Not only do they protect the environment and ancient ecosystems, they also shape the law, creating lasting reform for a truly sustainable future.

We don’t claim this to offset our emissions, because they can’t be cancelled out that easily. Rather it’s our contribution to building a future that genuinely puts the planet first.

Production

We’ve carefully planned our supply chain to be as local as possible, working with production partners who demonstrate a genuine drive for sustainability. With UK production being unviable currently, we have chosen to work with one single factory in Portugal.

The sheets are made using TENCEL™, one of the most sustainable fibres made from PEFC and FSC certified wood. TENCEL™ is made in a closed-loop production process that reuses all substances in production, so that no dirty waste water is released into the environment. They are dyed, woven and stitched at our Oeko-Tex approved partner factory in Portugal. We’ve avoided using plastic wherever possible, and have chosen recycled card for all of our packaging materials.

Continuous Improvement

We’re doing our best as a start-up to be as sustainable as possible. But we know there’ll always be more we can do. Some plans we have already:

  • Go circular. We want to introduce ways for you to recycle your bed linen once it’s no longer fit for use.

  • Use regenerative fibres. We don’t want to just be sustainable. We want to work with fibres that give more back to the environment than they take.

  • Measuring and reporting. We’ll report regularly using real data on our sustainability and impacts.

  • Pre-competitive collaboration. Sustainability isn’t a competition. We want to collaborate with other brands to help push the whole industry forwards.
